Booking Policies

Great Northern has offered fun-filled river trips to groups like yours since 1978. We have a variety of options and we'll make every effort to make your river trip the highlight of your summer! Whether you bring a group of 10 or 50 you'll recieve first class service. Because we will make the special effort to reserve the space and exact number of rafts and guides for your group, we ask that you follow our policies.

Group Discounts
You must have at least 10 people to qualify for a 10% discount. We ask that each group designate one person as organizer to communicate all aspects of each reservation. It is the group leader's responsibility to inform each member about all details and payment policies related to the trip. Submit one form of payment to us, either credit card or one check.

Waivers for Minors
Be sure that everyone in your group who is under 18 yrs. old submits their waiver form with a guardian's signature prior to your arrival. No one will be permitted on the raft without the proper signature(s). These forms will be mailed to the group leader in advance.

Confirmation
Set the date and time of your trip and call us to be sure that departure time is open. Then mail a check or call in a credit card number to secure the date.

A trip confirmation will be sent in receipt of your deposit and will indicate the balance which will be payable at the time of your trip. Arrival
Plan to be here 30-45 min. prior to trip departure time. All river trips depart from our Great Northern Resort office. We are located 1 mile SW of the west gate of Glacier National Park on US Highway 2. Look for the Red Caboose! Complimentary Continental Breakfast is offered to 9:30 a.m. trip guests. We also sell a variety of heathy sandwiches, soups, burgers, snacks and ice cream. Our Store has lots of riverwear, polarfleece, t-shirts, & sandals. We have a variety of sunscreen, eyeglass retainers, caps, sunglasses, waterproof cameras, and film.

We Supply
Type V Approved lifejackets, complete rainsuits for adults and children, professional guides on every trip, delicious meals on specified trips and round-trip transportation is provided from our parking area. Please lock your belongings in your car and leave your keys with our office staff. We rent wetsuits and booties. Booties are $2.50 for 1/2 day trips or $5.00 for full day. Wetsuits are $7.00 for 1/2 day and $10.00 full day and include the booties. For all whitewater trips prior to June 1, wetsuits are mandatory at a reduced rate. We recommend wearing polarfleece or poly-pro with wetsuits and rainwear on cold days. We provide changing rooms for your convenience. We go rain or shine!

You Supply
Swimsuit, shorts & shoes that you don't mind getting wet, or you may rent our booties. Footwear must be worn on the river. No thongs or slip-ons. Sandals are available in our retail store. A suggested packing list will be sent for overnight trips. Please notify your guide if you are taking personal medication or have medical conditions that we should be aware of.

Payments and Deposits are accepted by Visa, Mastercard Discover, American Express, check or money order. Add 3% Forest Service users fee.

Conditions
Great Northern Chalets - Reservation and Cancellation Policy: During peak season we require 3 night minimum stays in our chalets. We do not allow smoking or pets in our chalets. All accommodations require a deposit of 50% by credit card payable at the time of reservation. The balance of 50% is due 45 days prior to arrival. Your credit card will be automatically processed for the balance on the 45th day. All reservations taken within 45 days of your stay require the full payment. 1-2 night stays may be available within the summer season due to cancellations. When available they require full payment at the time of reservation. Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced: Notification must be given at least 46 days prior to your arrival for a refund of 25% of your deposit. There is no refund for cancellations made less than 45 days prior to arrival and you will forfeit 100% of the entire reservation amount.

Great Northern Whitewater Raft Trips - Reservations and Cancellation Policy: All reservations should be made in advance and payment is required at that time by credit card to guarantee your space. Overnight and group trips require the balance in full 30 days prior to departure. We encourage you to call and re-confirm your reservation numbers, date, and time at least 3 days in advance. All cancellations must be made with a Reservations Manager. In the event of a cancellation on overnight trips or on any promo related trips, a partial refund of 25% will be given with notice of 31 days or more. Cancellations for all other daily river trips require notice of 3 days or more to receive a 25% refund. We reserve the right to cancel trips due to weather, river levels (too high or too low), or insufficient numbers of people (4 min.). Full refunds will be made for these reasons. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.

Assumption of Risk
All guests must sign a liability and assumption of risk waiver form. Although every precaution is taken to safeguard you and your belongings, river trips by their very nature involve a certain amount of risk. Great Northern Whitewater, Inc. and its personnel shall assume no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, damages, losses or delays to persons or properties.

Great Northern Whitewater, Inc. is a AAA approved resort. We are members of all local Chambers of Commerce, the Glacier Country Travel Commission, America Outdoors, and the Worldwide Outfitters & Guides Association.
